10 years at Lucas -Community Celebration
Marking a decade of development in Lucas, the community came together on December 2nd, 2022, for a vibrant street party. NLB Creative + Events was engaged by property developer Integra, to hold an event that celebrated the journey of the Lucas development over the past 10 years. The main thoroughfare of Lucas was transformed into a hive of activity, featuring seven distinct zones tailored to cater to every age and interest. The heart of the event was a bustling community market boasting 60 stalls, along with an array of local food trucks.
Drawing an impressive crowd of over 3,500 attendees, the event showcased a diverse array of attractions and experiences:
Construction Zone: Visitors explored the Integra Tiny Town Cubbies, offering a hands-on experience of a tiny kind.
Tune Town (Licensed Area): Headliners Motor City Sounds, Red Duck Brewery, Kilderkin Distillery, and Tim’s Toasties.
Sports Zone: Sporting activities with the participation of Lucas Cricket & Hockey Clubs, as well the Western Bulldogs inflatable activities.
Hero HQ: Mini fire truck rides, an army obstacle course, and engaging activities by Ambulance Victoria, SES (State Emergency Service) and the CFA.
Enviro Hub: Participants connected with environmental initiatives from Gardens For Wildlife, BREAZE (Ballarat Renewable Energy and Zero Emissions), a plant giveaway, Furals woodcraft activities and Ballarat Youth Services Badge Making.
Movie World: Visitors enjoyed watching movies at the Optus Movie Truck on beanbags with popcorn and donuts.
Party Place: This zone was all about the kids, featuring a giant trampoline and slide, pony rides, face painting and even the chance to make reindeer food with Santa & Mrs. Claus. Plus crowd favourite Dr. Hubble Bubble added a touch of magic to the festivities.
This event was more than just a celebration; it was a testament to the unity and spirit that has defined the Lucas community over the past 10 years. The event was able to encapsulate the growth, diversity, and vibrancy that Lucas has embraced and continued to foster.
